6 (A)Israel was reduced to utter poverty by Midian, and so the Israelites cried out to the Lord.
7 When Israel cried out to the Lord because of Midian, 8 (B)the Lord sent a prophet to the Israelites who said to them: Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: I am the one who brought you up from Egypt; I brought you out of the house of slavery.

New International Version
6 Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out(A) to the Lord for help.
7 When the Israelites cried out(B) to the Lord because of Midian, 8 he sent them a prophet,(C) who said, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of Egypt,(D) out of the land of slavery.(E)
