14 And his fellow answered, and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian and all the host.

15 ¶ When Gideon heard the dream told, and the interpretation of the same, he [a]worshipped, and returned unto the host of Israel, and said, Up: for the Lord hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.

16 And he divided the three hundred men into three bands, and gave every man a trumpet in his hand with empty pitchers, and [b]lamps [c]within the pitchers.

14 His friend responded, “This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash,(A) the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands.”

15 When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down and worshiped.(B) He returned to the camp of Israel and called out, “Get up! The Lord has given the Midianite camp into your hands.”(C) 16 Dividing the three hundred men(D) into three companies,(E) he placed trumpets(F) and empty jars(G) in the hands of all of them, with torches(H) inside.
