18 When I blow with a trumpet and all that are with me, blow ye with trumpets also on every side of the host, and say, [a]For the Lord, and for Gideon.

19 ¶ So Gideon and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the host, in the beginning of the middle watch, and they raised up the watchmen, and they blew with their trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands.

20 And the three companies blew with trumpets and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The [b]sword of the Lord and of Gideon.

18 When I and all who are with me blow our trumpets,(A) then from all around the camp blow yours and shout, ‘For the Lord and for Gideon.’”

19 Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after they had changed the guard. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars(B) that were in their hands. 20 The three companies blew the trumpets and smashed the jars. Grasping the torches(C) in their left hands and holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to blow, they shouted, “A sword(D) for the Lord and for Gideon!”
