Judges 9:2-4
New King James Version
2 “Please speak in the hearing of all the men of Shechem: ‘Which is better for you, that all (A)seventy of the sons of Jerubbaal reign over you, or that one reign over you?’ Remember that I am your own flesh and (B)bone.”
3 And his mother’s brothers spoke all these words concerning him in the hearing of all the men of Shechem; and their heart was inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, “He is our (C)brother.” 4 So they gave him seventy shekels of silver from the temple of (D)Baal-Berith, with which Abimelech hired (E)worthless and reckless men; and they followed him.

2 “Ask all the citizens of Shechem, ‘Which is better for you: to have all seventy of Jerub-Baal’s sons rule over you, or just one man?’ Remember, I am your flesh and blood.(A)”
3 When the brothers repeated all this to the citizens of Shechem, they were inclined to follow Abimelek, for they said, “He is related to us.” 4 They gave him seventy shekels[a] of silver from the temple of Baal-Berith,(B) and Abimelek used it to hire reckless scoundrels,(C) who became his followers.
