Israel Fights the Remaining Canaanites^(A)

1 After the death^(B) of Joshua, the Israelites asked the Lord, “Who of us is to go up first^(C) to fight against the Canaanites?^(D)”

²¹ I will no longer drive out^(A) before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died.

²² I will use them to test^(A) Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the Lord and walk in it as their ancestors did.”
