Lamentations 1:3-5
New American Standard Bible 1995
3 (A)Judah has gone into exile [a]under affliction
And [b]under [c]harsh servitude;
She dwells (B)among the nations,
But she has found no rest;
All (C)her pursuers have overtaken her
In the midst of [d]distress.
4 The roads [e]of Zion are in mourning
Because (D)no one comes to the appointed feasts.
All her gates are (E)desolate;
Her priests are groaning,
Her (F)virgins are afflicted,
And she herself [f]is (G)bitter.
5 Her adversaries have become [g]her masters,
Her enemies [h]prosper;
For the Lord has (H)caused her grief
Because of the multitude of her transgressions;
Her little ones have gone away
As captives before the adversary.
