⁵ The Lord has become like an ^(A)enemy.
He has ^(B)engulfed Israel;
He has engulfed all its ^(C)palaces,
He has destroyed its strongholds
And ^(D)caused great mourning and grieving in the daughter of Judah.
⁶ And He has treated His ^[a]tabernacle violently, like a despised garden;
He has ^(E)destroyed His appointed ^[b]meeting place.
The Lord has ^(F)caused
The appointed feast and Sabbath in Zion to be forgotten,
And He has ^(G)despised king and priest
In the indignation of His anger.
⁷ The Lord has ^(H)rejected His altar,
He has ^[c]repudiated His sanctuary;
He ^(I)has handed over
The walls of her palaces to the enemy.
They have made a ^(J)noise in the house of the Lord
As on the day of an appointed feast.
