[a]The reason is so that the sons of Israel may bring their sacrifices which they were sacrificing in the open field, that they may bring them in to the Lord, at the doorway of the tent of meeting to the priest, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to the Lord. The priest shall sprinkle the blood on the altar of the Lord at the doorway of the tent of meeting, and (A)offer up the fat in smoke as a soothing aroma to the Lord. (B)They shall no longer sacrifice their sacrifices to the [b]goat demons with which they play the harlot. This shall be a permanent statute to them throughout their generations.”’

This is so the Israelites will bring to the Lord the sacrifices they are now making in the open fields. They must bring them to the priest, that is, to the Lord, at the entrance to the tent of meeting and sacrifice them as fellowship offerings.(A) The priest is to splash the blood against the altar(B) of the Lord(C) at the entrance to the tent of meeting and burn the fat as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.(D) They must no longer offer any of their sacrifices to the goat idols[a](E) to whom they prostitute themselves.(F) This is to be a lasting ordinance(G) for them and for the generations to come.’(H)
