²⁶ “You are not to eat anything with blood in it.^[a](A) You are not to practice divination^(B) or witchcraft.^(C)

³¹ “Do not turn to mediums^[a](A) or consult spiritists,^[b](B) or you will be defiled by them; I am the Lord your God.

¹⁰ No one among you is to sacrifice his son or daughter in the fire,^[a](A) practice divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practice sorcery, ¹¹ cast spells, consult a medium or a spiritist, or inquire of the dead.^{(B) 12} Everyone who does these acts is detestable to the Lord, and the Lord your God is driving out the nations before you because of these detestable acts.

²⁴ In addition, Josiah eradicated the mediums, the spiritists,^(A) household idols,^(B) images, and all the abhorrent things^(C) that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem. He did this in order to carry out the words of the law that were written in the book that the priest Hilkiah found in the Lord’s temple.^(D)
