15 (A)You shall also count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath, from the day when you brought in the sheaf of the wave offering; there shall be seven complete Sabbaths. 16 You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall present a (B)new grain offering to the Lord. 17 You shall bring in from your dwelling places two loaves of bread as a wave offering, made of [a]two-tenths of an ephah; they shall be of a fine flour, baked (C)with leaven as first fruits to the Lord. 18 Along with the bread you shall present seven one-year-old male lambs without defect, and a bull of the herd and two rams; they are to be a burnt offering to the Lord, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, an offering by fire of a soothing aroma to the Lord. 19 You shall also offer (D)one male goat as a [b]sin offering, and two male lambs one year old as a sacrifice of peace offerings. 20 The priest shall then wave them with the bread of the first fruits as a wave offering with two lambs before the Lord; they are to be holy to the Lord for the priest. 21 On this very day you shall (E)make a proclamation as well; you are to have a holy convocation. You shall do no laborious (F)work. It is to be a permanent statute in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.

22 (G)When you reap the harvest of your land, moreover, you shall not reap to the very edges of your field nor gather the gleaning of your harvest; you are to leave them for the needy and the stranger. I am the Lord your God.’”

23 Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 24 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘(H)In the [c]seventh month on the first of the month you shall have a [d]rest, a (I)reminder by blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall (J)not do any laborious work, but you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord.’”

The Day of Atonement

26 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 27 “On exactly (K)the tenth day of this seventh month is (L)the Day of Atonement; it shall be a holy convocation for you, and you shall humble [e]yourselves and present an offering by fire to the Lord. 28 You shall not do any work on this very day, for it is a (M)Day of Atonement, (N)to make atonement on your behalf before the Lord your God. 29 If there is any [f]person who does not humble himself on this very day, (O)he shall be cut off from his people. 30 As for any person who does any work on this very day, that person I will eliminate from among his people. 31 You shall not do any work. It is to be a permanent statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places. 32 It is to be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall humble [g]yourselves; on the ninth of the month at evening, from evening until evening, you shall keep your Sabbath.”

33 Again the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On (P)the fifteenth of this [h]seventh month is the (Q)Feast of Booths for seven days to the Lord. 35 On the first day is a holy convocation; you shall (R)not do any laborious work. 36 (S)For seven days you shall present an offering by fire to the Lord. On (T)the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation and present an offering by fire to the Lord; it is an assembly. You shall not do any laborious work.

37 ‘These are (U)the appointed times of the Lord which you shall proclaim as holy convocations, to present offerings by fire to the Lord—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, (V)each day’s matter on its own day— 38 besides those of the Sabbaths of the Lord, and besides your gifts and besides all your [i]vowed and [j]voluntary offerings, which you give to the Lord.

39 ‘On exactly the fifteenth day of the seventh month, (W)when you have gathered in the crops of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord for seven days, with a [k]rest on the first day and a [l]rest on the eighth day. 40 Now on the first day you shall take for yourselves the [m]foliage of beautiful trees, palm branches and branches of trees with thick branches and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days. 41 So you shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It shall be a permanent statute throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 You shall live (X)in booths for seven days; all the native-born in Israel shall live in booths, 43 so that (Y)your generations may know that I had the sons of Israel live in booths when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’” 44 So Moses declared to the sons of Israel (Z)the appointed times of the Lord.

The Festival of Weeks(A)

15 “‘From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, count off seven full weeks. 16 Count off fifty days up to the day after the seventh Sabbath,(B) and then present an offering of new grain to the Lord. 17 From wherever you live, bring two loaves made of two-tenths of an ephah(C) of the finest flour, baked with yeast, as a wave offering of firstfruits(D) to the Lord. 18 Present with this bread seven male lambs, each a year old and without defect, one young bull and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the Lord, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings(E)—a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord. 19 Then sacrifice one male goat for a sin offering[a] and two lambs, each a year old, for a fellowship offering. 20 The priest is to wave the two lambs before the Lord as a wave offering,(F) together with the bread of the firstfruits. They are a sacred offering to the Lord for the priest. 21 On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly(G) and do no regular work.(H) This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live.

22 “‘When you reap the harvest(I) of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.(J) Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you.(K) I am the Lord your God.’”

The Festival of Trumpets(L)

23 The Lord said to Moses, 24 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of sabbath rest, a sacred assembly(M) commemorated with trumpet blasts.(N) 25 Do no regular work,(O) but present a food offering to the Lord.(P)’”

The Day of Atonement(Q)

26 The Lord said to Moses, 27 “The tenth day of this seventh month(R) is the Day of Atonement.(S) Hold a sacred assembly(T) and deny yourselves,[b] and present a food offering to the Lord. 28 Do not do any work(U) on that day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the Lord your God. 29 Those who do not deny themselves on that day must be cut off from their people.(V) 30 I will destroy from among their people(W) anyone who does any work on that day. 31 You shall do no work at all. This is to be a lasting ordinance(X) for the generations to come, wherever you live. 32 It is a day of sabbath rest(Y) for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.”(Z)

The Festival of Tabernacles(AA)

33 The Lord said to Moses, 34 “Say to the Israelites: ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh(AB) month the Lord’s Festival of Tabernacles(AC) begins, and it lasts for seven days. 35 The first day is a sacred assembly;(AD) do no regular work.(AE) 36 For seven days present food offerings to the Lord, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly(AF) and present a food offering to the Lord.(AG) It is the closing special assembly; do no regular work.

37 (“‘These are the Lord’s appointed festivals, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for bringing food offerings to the Lord—the burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings(AH) required for each day. 38 These offerings(AI) are in addition to those for the Lord’s Sabbaths(AJ) and[c] in addition to your gifts and whatever you have vowed and all the freewill offerings(AK) you give to the Lord.)

39 “‘So beginning with the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the crops of the land, celebrate the festival(AL) to the Lord for seven days;(AM) the first day is a day of sabbath rest, and the eighth day also is a day of sabbath rest. 40 On the first day you are to take branches(AN) from luxuriant trees—from palms, willows and other leafy trees(AO)—and rejoice(AP) before the Lord your God for seven days. 41 Celebrate this as a festival to the Lord for seven days each year. This is to be a lasting ordinance for the generations to come; celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 Live in temporary shelters(AQ) for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters 43 so your descendants will know(AR) that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’”

44 So Moses announced to the Israelites the appointed festivals of the Lord.
