Leviticus 25:37-39

³⁷ You shall not give him your silver at interest, nor your food ^[a]for profit. ^38 (A)I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan, and ^(B)to be your God.

³⁹ ‘Now ^(C)if a countryman of yours becomes so poor with regard to you that he sells himself to you, you shall not subject him to a slave’s service.
