Leviticus 26:30-32
New English Translation
30 I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars,[a] and I will stack your dead bodies on top of the lifeless bodies of your idols.[b] I will abhor you.[c] 31 I will lay your cities waste[d] and make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will refuse to smell your soothing aromas. 32 I myself will make the land desolate and your enemies who live in it will be appalled.

- Leviticus 26:30 tn The translation reflects the Hebrew wordplay “your corpses…the corpses of your idols.” Since idols, being lifeless, do not really have “corpses,” the translation uses “dead bodies” for people and “lifeless bodies” for the idols.
- Leviticus 26:30 tn Heb “and my soul will abhor you.”
- Leviticus 26:31 tn Heb “And I will give your cities a waste”; NLT “make your cities desolate.”

New International Version
30 I will destroy your high places,(A) cut down your incense altars(B) and pile your dead bodies[a] on the lifeless forms of your idols,(C) and I will abhor(D) you. 31 I will turn your cities into ruins(E) and lay waste(F) your sanctuaries,(G) and I will take no delight in the pleasing aroma of your offerings.(H) 32 I myself will lay waste the land,(I) so that your enemies who live there will be appalled.(J)
