Any male in a priest’s family may eat it,(A) but it must be eaten in the sanctuary area; it is most holy.(B)

14 They are to bring one of each kind as an offering, a contribution to the Lord; it belongs to the priest who splashes the blood of the fellowship offering against the altar. 15 The meat of their fellowship offering of thanksgiving must be eaten on the day it is offered; they must leave none of it till morning.(A)

16 “‘If, however, their offering is the result of a vow(B) or is a freewill offering,(C) the sacrifice shall be eaten on the day they offer it, but anything left over may be eaten on the next day.(D) 17 Any meat of the sacrifice left over till the third day must be burned up.(E) 18 If any meat of the fellowship offering(F) is eaten on the third day, the one who offered it will not be accepted.(G) It will not be reckoned(H) to their credit, for it has become impure; the person who eats any of it will be held responsible.(I)

19 “‘Meat that touches anything ceremonially unclean must not be eaten; it must be burned up. As for other meat, anyone ceremonially clean may eat it. 20 But if anyone who is unclean(J) eats any meat of the fellowship offering belonging to the Lord, they must be cut off from their people.(K) 21 Anyone who touches something unclean(L)—whether human uncleanness or an unclean animal or any unclean creature that moves along the ground[a]—and then eats any of the meat of the fellowship offering belonging to the Lord must be cut off from their people.’”

Eating Fat and Blood Forbidden

22 The Lord said to Moses, 23 “Say to the Israelites: ‘Do not eat any of the fat of cattle, sheep or goats.(M) 24 The fat of an animal found dead or torn by wild animals(N) may be used for any other purpose, but you must not eat it. 25 Anyone who eats the fat of an animal from which a food offering may be[b] presented to the Lord must be cut off from their people. 26 And wherever you live, you must not eat the blood(O) of any bird or animal. 27 Anyone who eats blood(P) must be cut off from their people.’”

The Priests’ Share

28 The Lord said to Moses, 29 “Say to the Israelites: ‘Anyone who brings a fellowship offering to the Lord is to bring part of it as their sacrifice to the Lord. 30 With their own hands they are to present the food offering to the Lord; they are to bring the fat, together with the breast, and wave the breast before the Lord as a wave offering.(Q) 31 The priest shall burn the fat on the altar,(R) but the breast belongs to Aaron and his sons.(S) 32 You are to give the right thigh of your fellowship offerings to the priest as a contribution.(T) 33 The son of Aaron who offers the blood and the fat of the fellowship offering shall have the right thigh as his share. 34 From the fellowship offerings of the Israelites, I have taken the breast that is waved and the thigh(U) that is presented and have given them to Aaron the priest and his sons(V) as their perpetual share from the Israelites.’”

35 This is the portion of the food offerings presented to the Lord that were allotted to Aaron and his sons on the day they were presented to serve the Lord as priests. 36 On the day they were anointed,(W) the Lord commanded that the Israelites give this to them as their perpetual share for the generations to come.

37 These, then, are the regulations for the burnt offering,(X) the grain offering,(Y) the sin offering, the guilt offering, the ordination offering(Z) and the fellowship offering, 38 which the Lord gave Moses(AA) at Mount Sinai(AB) in the Desert of Sinai on the day he commanded the Israelites to bring their offerings to the Lord.(AC)

17 You must not eat in your own towns the tithe(A) of your grain and new wine and olive oil,(B) or the firstborn of your herds and flocks, or whatever you have vowed to give,(C) or your freewill offerings or special gifts.(D) 18 Instead, you are to eat(E) them in the presence of the Lord your God at the place the Lord your God will choose(F)—you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, and the Levites from your towns—and you are to rejoice(G) before the Lord your God in everything you put your hand to. 19 Be careful not to neglect the Levites(H) as long as you live in your land.(I)

20 When the Lord your God has enlarged your territory(J) as he promised(K) you, and you crave meat(L) and say, “I would like some meat,” then you may eat as much of it as you want. 21 If the place where the Lord your God chooses to put his Name(M) is too far away from you, you may slaughter animals from the herds and flocks the Lord has given you, as I have commanded you, and in your own towns you may eat as much of them as you want.(N) 22 Eat them as you would gazelle or deer.(O) Both the ceremonially unclean and the clean may eat. 23 But be sure you do not eat the blood,(P) because the blood is the life, and you must not eat the life with the meat.(Q) 24 You must not eat the blood; pour it out on the ground like water.(R) 25 Do not eat it, so that it may go well(S) with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is right(T) in the eyes of the Lord.

26 But take your consecrated things and whatever you have vowed to give,(U) and go to the place the Lord will choose. 27 Present your burnt offerings(V) on the altar of the Lord your God, both the meat and the blood. The blood of your sacrifices must be poured beside the altar of the Lord your God, but you may eat(W) the meat. 28 Be careful to obey all these regulations I am giving you, so that it may always go well(X) with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and right in the eyes of the Lord your God.

29 The Lord your God will cut off(Y) before you the nations you are about to invade and dispossess. But when you have driven them out and settled in their land,(Z) 30 and after they have been destroyed before you, be careful not to be ensnared(AA) by inquiring about their gods, saying, “How do these nations serve their gods? We will do the same.”(AB) 31 You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods, they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates.(AC) They even burn their sons(AD) and daughters in the fire as sacrifices to their gods.(AE)

32 See that you do all I command you; do not add(AF) to it or take away from it.[a]
