¹⁷ He shall tear it open by the wings, not dividing it completely,^(A) and then the priest shall burn it on the wood^(B) that is burning on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.

⁹ When they reached the place God had told him about,^(A) Abraham built an altar^(B) there and arranged the wood^(C) on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar,^(D) on top of the wood.

⁵ Then Aaron’s sons^(A) are to burn it on the altar^(B) on top of the burnt offering^(C) that is lying on the burning wood;^(D) it is a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.^(E)

¹² The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood^(A) and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat^(B) of the fellowship offerings^(C) on it.
