²⁴“‘Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you^(A) became defiled.^(B) ²⁵Even the land was defiled;^(C) so I punished it for its sin,^(D) and the land vomited out its inhabitants.^(E)

Deuteronomy 8:7-10

New International Version

⁷For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land^(A)—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills;^(B) ⁸a land with wheat and barley,^(C) vines^(D) and fig trees,^(E) pomegranates, olive oil and honey;^(F) ⁹a land where bread^(G) will not be scarce and you will lack nothing;^(H) a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.^(I)

¹⁰When you have eaten and are satisfied,^(J) praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.
