^10 (A)‘The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death.

¹⁴ If a man marries a woman and her ^(A)mother, it is wickedness. They shall be burned with fire, both he and they, that there may be no wickedness among you.

⁹ The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the harlot, she profanes her father. She shall be ^(A)burned with fire.

²¹ then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with ^(A)stones, because she has ^(B)done a disgraceful thing in Israel, to play the harlot in her father’s house. ^(C)So you shall ^[a]put away the evil from among you.

^22 (A)“If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then both of them shall die—the man that lay with the woman, and the woman; so you shall put away the evil from Israel.

²⁵ And Joshua said, ^(A)“Why have you troubled us? The Lord will trouble you this day.” ^(B)So all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones.

⁶ Then the Philistines said, “Who has done this?”

And they answered, “Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion.” ^(A)So the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire.

^12 (A)all the valiant men arose and traveled all night, and took the body of Saul and the bodies of his sons from the wall of Beth Shan; and they came to Jabesh and ^(B)burned them there.
