³¹ I will turn your cities into ruins^(A) and lay waste^(B) your sanctuaries,^(C) and I will take no delight in the pleasing aroma of your offerings.^(D)

³⁴ Then the land will enjoy its sabbath years all the time that it lies desolate^(A) and you are in the country of your enemies;^(B) then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.

²³ The whole land will be a burning waste^(A) of salt^(B) and sulfur—nothing planted, nothing sprouting, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah,^(C) Admah and Zeboyim, which the Lord overthrew in fierce anger.^(D)

¹⁴ ‘I scattered^(A) them with a whirlwind^(B) among all the nations, where they were strangers. The land they left behind them was so desolate that no one traveled through it.^(C) This is how they made the pleasant land desolate.^(D)’”
