¹⁶ The priest shall burn them on the altar^(A) as a food offering,^(B) a pleasing aroma.^(C) All the fat^(D) is the Lord’s.^(E)

¹⁷ “‘This is a lasting ordinance^(F) for the generations to come,^(G) wherever you live:^(H) You must not eat any fat or any blood.^(I)’”

⁵ This is so the Israelites will bring to the Lord the sacrifices they are now making in the open fields. They must bring them to the priest, that is, to the Lord, at the entrance to the tent of meeting and sacrifice them as fellowship offerings.^{(A) 6} The priest is to splash the blood against the altar^(B) of the Lord^(C) at the entrance to the tent of meeting and burn the fat as an aroma pleasing to the Lord.^(D)

⁵ “You are to be responsible for the care of the sanctuary and the altar,^(A) so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelites again.

³⁵ I will raise up for myself a faithful priest,^(A) who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. I will firmly establish his priestly house, and they will minister before my anointed^(B) one always.

⁷ “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements,^(A) then you will govern my house^(B) and have charge^(C) of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.^(D)
