¹² all the rest of the bull—he must bring to a ceremonially clean place^(A) outside the camp^(B) to the ash heap, and must burn it on a wood fire. It is to be burned at the ash heap.

¹⁰ The priest is to put on his linen robe and linen undergarments.^[a](A) He is to remove the ashes of the burnt offering the fire has consumed on the altar, and place them beside the altar. ¹¹ Then he will take off his garments, put on other clothes,^(B) and bring the ashes outside the camp to a ceremonially clean place.

³ He gave a sign^(A) that day. He said, “This is the sign that the Lord has spoken: ‘The altar will now be ripped apart, and the ashes that are on it will be poured out.’”^(B)

⁵ The altar was ripped apart, and the ashes poured from the altar, according to the sign that the man of God had given by the word of the Lord.

⁴⁰ The whole valley—the corpses, the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Kidron Valley^(A) to the corner of the Horse Gate^(B) to the east—will be holy to the Lord. It will never be uprooted or demolished again.”
