¹⁷ “If someone sins and without knowing it violates any of the Lord’s commands concerning anything prohibited, he bears the consequences of his guilt.

¹² For whoever has, more will be given to him, and he will have more than enough. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.^(A)

²⁰ For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world,^(A) being understood through what He has made.^(B) As a result, people are without excuse.

¹⁴ So, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, instinctively^(A) do what the law demands, they are a law to themselves even though they do not have the law.
