⁵⁷When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son.

⁵⁷Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son.

⁶⁰but his mother spoke up and said, “No! He is to be called John.”^(A)

⁶⁰And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.

⁶³He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.”^(A)

⁶³And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.
