27 ¶ [a]And it came to pass as he said these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But he said, Yea, rather blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
29 ¶ (A)[b]And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is a wicked generation: they seek a sign, and there shall no sign be given them, but the sign of (B)Jonah the Prophet.

27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.”(A)
28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God(B) and obey it.”(C)

29 As the crowds increased, Jesus said, “This is a wicked generation. It asks for a sign,(E) but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah.(F)
