33 So then, none of you can be My disciple who (A)does not [a]give up all his own possessions.

But (A)whatever things were gain to me, these things I have counted as loss because of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss [a]in view of the surpassing value of [b](B)knowing (C)Christ Jesus my Lord, [c]for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them mere rubbish, so that I may gain Christ, and may be found in Him, not having (D)a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, (E)the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith, 10 that I may (F)know Him and (G)the power of His resurrection and [d](H)the fellowship of His sufferings, being (I)conformed to His death; 11 if somehow I may (J)attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already [e](K)grasped it all or have already (L)become perfect, but I press on if I may also (M)take hold of that [f]for which I (N)was even taken hold of by (O)Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not regard myself as having taken hold of it yet; but one thing I do: (P)forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I (Q)press on toward the goal for the prize of the (R)upward call of God in (S)Christ Jesus. 15 Therefore, all who are [g](T)mature, let’s have this attitude; and if in anything you have a (U)different attitude, (V)God will reveal that to you as well; 16 however, let’s keep [h](W)living by that same standard to which we have attained.

17 Brothers and sisters, (X)join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the (Y)pattern you have in us. 18 For (Z)many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even as I (AA)weep, that they are the enemies of (AB)the cross of Christ, 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their [i](AC)appetite, and whose (AD)glory is in their shame, who (AE)have their minds on earthly things. 20 For (AF)our [j]citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly (AG)wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; 21 who will (AH)transform the body of our lowly condition into (AI)conformity with [k]His (AJ)glorious body, (AK)by the exertion of the power that He has even to (AL)subject all things to Himself.

But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss(A) for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing(B) Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ(C) and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law,(D) but that which is through faith in[a] Christ—the righteousness(E) that comes from God on the basis of faith.(F) 10 I want to know(G) Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings,(H) becoming like him in his death,(I) 11 and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection(J) from the dead.

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal,(K) but I press on to take hold(L) of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.(M) 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind(N) and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on(O) toward the goal to win the prize(P) for which God has called(Q) me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Following Paul’s Example

15 All of us, then, who are mature(R) should take such a view of things.(S) And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.(T) 16 Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

17 Join together in following my example,(U) brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.(V) 18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears,(W) many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.(X) 19 Their destiny(Y) is destruction, their god is their stomach,(Z) and their glory is in their shame.(AA) Their mind is set on earthly things.(AB) 20 But our citizenship(AC) is in heaven.(AD) And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,(AE) 21 who, by the power(AF) that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies(AG) so that they will be like his glorious body.(AH)
