22 Then Jesus[a] told the disciples, “The time will come during which you will long to see one of these days when the Son of Man is with you,[b] but you won’t see it. 23 People[c] will say to you, ‘Look! There he is!’ or ‘Look! Here he is!’ But don’t go and chase after him. 24 Because just as lightning flashes and shines from one end of the sky to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his time.[d]

22 Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man,(A) but you will not see it.(B) 23 People will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them.(C) 24 For the Son of Man in his day[a] will be like the lightning,(D) which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.
