56 So[a] Mary stayed with Elizabeth[b] about three months[c] and then returned to her home.

57 Now the time came[d] for Elizabeth to have her baby,[e] and she gave birth to a son. 58 Her[f] neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown[g] great mercy to her, and they rejoiced[h] with her.
