23 (As it is written in the Law of the Lord, (A)Every man child that first openeth the womb, shall be called holy to the Lord,)
24 And to give an oblation, (B)as it is commanded in the Law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
25 [a]And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon: this man was just, and feared God, and waited for the consolation of Israel, and the [b]holy Ghost was upon him.

23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”[a]),(A) 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”[b](B)
25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout.(C) He was waiting for the consolation of Israel,(D) and the Holy Spirit was on him.
