11 and this message seemed to them just stupid, useless talk, and they didn’t believe them.
12 Peter, though, got up and ran to the tomb. He stooped down and saw only the grave-clothes. He went back home, perplexed at what had happened.

13 That very day, two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, which lay about seven miles from Jerusalem.

New International Version
11 But they did not believe(A) the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves,(B) and he went away,(C) wondering to himself what had happened.

13 Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles[a] from Jerusalem.(D)
