⁷ saying that ^(A)the Son of Man must be handed over to sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise from the dead.”

⁴⁴ Now He said to them, “^(A)These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all the things that are written about Me in the ^(B)Law of Moses and the Prophets and ^(C)the Psalms must be fulfilled.” ⁴⁵ Then He ^(D)opened their ^[a]minds to understand the Scriptures, ⁴⁶ and He said to them, “^(E)So it is written, that the ^[b]Christ would suffer and ^(F)rise from the dead on the third day, ⁴⁷ and that ^(G)repentance ^[c]for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed ^[d]in His name to ^(H)all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ You are ^(I)witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And behold, ^(J)I am sending the promise of My Father upon you; but ^(K)you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

The Ascension

⁵⁰ And He led them out as far as ^(L)Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. ⁵¹ While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. ⁵² And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy, ⁵³ and were continually in the temple ^[e]praising God.

¹⁰ For ^(A)it was fitting for Him, ^(B)for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to ^(C)perfect the ^[a](D)originator of their salvation through sufferings.

^11 [a]seeking to know what person or time ^(A)the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He ^(B)predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories ^[b]to follow.
