Good News Translation
18 In many different ways John preached the Good News to the people and urged them to change their ways. 19 (A)But John reprimanded Governor Herod, because he had married Herodias, his brother's wife, and had done many other evil things. 20 Then Herod did an even worse thing by putting John in prison.

New International Version
18 And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them.
19 But when John rebuked Herod(A) the tetrarch because of his marriage to Herodias, his brother’s wife, and all the other evil things he had done, 20 Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.(B)
