37 And the fame of him spread abroad throughout all the places of the country round about.
38 ¶ (A)[a]And he rose up, and came out of the Synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever, and they required him for her.
39 Then he stood over her, and rebuked the fever, and it left her, and immediately she arose, and ministered unto them.

38 Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. 39 So he bent over her and rebuked(D) the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.
