16 However, he continued his habit of retiring to deserted places and praying.
Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man(A)
17 One day, as Jesus[a] was teaching, some Pharisees and teachers of the Law happened to be sitting nearby. The people[b] had come from every village in Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was present to heal them.[c] 18 Some men were bringing a paralyzed man on a stretcher. They were trying to take him into the house[d] and place him in front of Jesus.[e]

16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.(A)
Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man(B)
17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law(C) were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick.(D) 18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus.
