21 “Happy are you who are hungry now;
you will be filled!
“Happy are you who weep now;
you will laugh!
22 (A)“Happy are you when people hate you, reject you, insult you, and say that you are evil, all because of the Son of Man! 23 (B)Be glad when that happens and dance for joy, because a great reward is kept for you in heaven. For their ancestors did the very same things to the prophets.

21 Blessed are you who hunger now,
for you will be satisfied.(A)
Blessed are you who weep now,
for you will laugh.(B)
22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you(C) and insult you(D)
and reject your name as evil,
because of the Son of Man.(E)
23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy,(F) because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.(G)
