Luke 7:28-30
The Voice
28 Listen, there is no human being greater than this man, John the Baptist. Yet even the least significant person in the coming kingdom of God is greater than John.
29 The common people and tax collectors heard God’s own wisdom in Jesus’ assessment of John because they had been ritually cleansed through baptism by John. 30 But the Pharisees and religious scholars hardened their hearts and turned their backs on God’s purposes for them because they had refused John’s baptism.[a]

New International Version
28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God(A) is greater than he.”
29 (All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John.(B) 30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law(C) rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.)
