⁴⁵But they did not understand what this meant. It was hidden from them, so that they did not grasp it,^(A) and they were afraid to ask him about it.

⁴⁵But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

³⁴The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.^(A)

³⁴And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
