3 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when ^(A)Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, and ^(B)Herod was tetrarch of Galilee and his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene,

Call to Repent

13 Now on that very occasion there were some present who reported to Him about the Galileans whose blood ^(A)Pilate had ^[a]mixed with their sacrifices.

¹² And so ^(A)Herod and Pilate became friends with one another that very day; for previously, they had been enemies toward each other.

^13 (A)The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, ^(B)the God of our fathers, has glorified His ^[a](C)servant Jesus, the one whom ^(D)you handed over and disowned in the presence of ^(E)Pilate, when he had ^(F)decided to release Him.

²⁷ For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy ^[a](A)servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both ^(B)Herod and ^(C)Pontius Pilate, along with ^(D)the ^[b]Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,

^13 (A)I direct you in the presence of God, who ^[a]gives life to all things, and of ^(B)Christ Jesus, who testified the ^(C)good confession ^(D)before Pontius Pilate,
