12 Yahweh will cut off, to the man who does this, him who wakes and him who answers, out of the tents of Jacob, and him who offers an offering to Yahweh of Armies. 13 This again you do: you cover Yahweh’s altar with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, because he doesn’t regard the offering any more, neither receives it with good will at your hand. 14 Yet you say, ‘Why?’ Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.

12 As for the man who does this, whoever he may be, may the Lord remove(A) him from the tents of Jacob[a](B)—even though he brings an offering(C) to the Lord Almighty.
13 Another thing you do: You flood the Lord’s altar with tears.(D) You weep and wail(E) because he no longer looks with favor(F) on your offerings or accepts them with pleasure from your hands.(G) 14 You ask,(H) “Why?” It is because the Lord is the witness(I) between you and the wife of your youth.(J) You have been unfaithful to her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.(K)
