Mark 12:35-37

35 As Jesus was teaching in the temple area he said,(A) “How do the scribes claim that the Messiah is the son of David? 36 David himself, inspired by the holy Spirit, said:
‘The Lord said to my lord,
“Sit at my right hand
until I place your enemies under your feet.”’(B)
37 David himself calls him ‘lord’; so how is he his son?” [The] great crowd heard this with delight.

Whose Son Is the Messiah?(A)(B)
35 While Jesus was teaching in the temple courts,(C) he asked, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David?(D) 36 David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit,(E) declared:
37 David himself calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
The large crowd(G) listened to him with delight.
