¹⁰ Then^(A) Judas Iscariot,^(B) one of the Twelve,^(C) went to the chief priests^(D) to hand Him over^(E) to them. ¹¹ And when they heard this, they were glad and promised to give him silver.^[a](F) So he started looking for a good opportunity to betray^(G) Him.

³ Then^(A) Satan entered Judas,^(B) called Iscariot,^(C) who was numbered among the Twelve. ⁴ He went away and discussed with the chief priests and temple police^(D) how he could hand Him over^(E) to them. ⁵ They were glad and agreed to give him silver.^{[a] 6} So he accepted the offer and started looking for a good opportunity to betray Him to them when the crowd was not present.
