23 Jesus turned and told Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me because you’re not thinking about God’s concerns[a] but human concerns.”(A)

24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to follow after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.(B) 25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will find it.(C)

New International Version
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan!(A) You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.(B) 25 For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.(C)
