19 Show Me the coin for the poll-tax”. And the ones brought to Him a denarius[a]. 20 And He says to them, “Whose is this image and inscription?” 21 They say to Him, “Caesar’s”. Then He says to them, “Then give-back[b] the things of Caesar to Caesar, and the things of God to God”.

New International Version
19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
21 “Caesar’s,” they replied.
Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,(A) and to God what is God’s.”
