30 And then[a] the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heaven. And at-that-time all the tribes of the earth will beat-their-breasts. And they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send-out His angels with a loud trumpet. And they will gather together His chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends[b] of the heavens to their [other] ends.

32 “Now learn the parable from the fig-tree[c]: when its branch already becomes tender and grows-out its leaves, you know that the summer is near.

- Matthew 24:31 Or, extremities. That is, from horizon to horizon; or, from all earth (the four winds) and all heaven.
- Matthew 24:32 Some think that this has reference to Israel; others, that it is simply an illustration for which any fruit tree would have worked, as in Lk 21:29.

30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[a] will mourn(A) when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,(B) with power and great glory.[b] 31 And he will send his angels(C) with a loud trumpet call,(D) and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.
