⁶⁷Then they spit in his face and buffeted him, and others smote him with the staves,

⁶⁸saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ; who is he that smote thee?

⁶⁹¶ Now Peter sat outside in the patio; and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

⁶⁷Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists.^(A) Others slapped him ⁶⁸and said, “Prophesy to us, Messiah. Who hit you?”^(B)

⁶⁹Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.
