⁶⁷Then they spat in his face and struck him and some slapped him, ⁶⁸saying, “Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who struck you that time?”

⁶⁹Meanwhile, as Peter was sitting in the courtyard, a girl came over and said to him, “You were with Jesus, for both of you are from Galilee.”^[a]

Matthew 26:69 with Jesus, for both of you are from Galilee, literally, “with Jesus the Galilean.”

⁶⁷Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists.^(A) Others slapped him ⁶⁸and said, “Prophesy to us, Messiah. Who hit you?”^(B)

⁶⁹Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.

⁶⁷Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

⁶⁸Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

⁶⁹Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
