Peter Disowns Jesus^(A)

⁶⁹ Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.

⁷⁰ Again he denied it.^(A)

After a little while, those standing near said to Peter, “Surely you are one of them, for you are a Galilean.”^(B)

Repent or Perish

13 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate^(A) had mixed with their sacrifices. ² Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way?^(B)

⁵⁹ About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.”^(A)

⁶ On hearing this, Pilate asked if the man was a Galilean.^(A)

¹¹ “Men of Galilee,”^(A) they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back^(B) in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

⁷ Utterly amazed,^(A) they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?^(B)

³⁷ After him, Judas the Galilean appeared in the days of the census^(A) and led a band of people in revolt. He too was killed, and all his followers were scattered.
