⁶⁹Meanwhile, as Peter was sitting in the courtyard, a girl came over and said to him, “You were with Jesus, for both of you are from Galilee.”^[a]

⁷⁰But Peter denied it loudly. “I don’t even know what you are talking about,” he angrily declared.

⁷¹Later, out by the gate, another girl noticed him and said to those standing around, “This man was with Jesus—from Nazareth.”

Matthew 26:69 with Jesus, for both of you are from Galilee, literally, “with Jesus the Galilean.”

⁶⁹Now Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him. “You also were with Jesus of Galilee,” she said.

⁷⁰But he denied it before them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.

⁷¹Then he went out to the gateway, where another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This fellow was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
