22 Pilate said unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus, which is called Christ? They all said to him, Let him be crucified.
23 Then said the governor, But what evil hath he done? Then they cried the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
24 [a]When Pilate saw that he availed nothing, but that more tumult was made, he took water and [b]washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the [c]blood of this just man: look you to it.

They all answered, “Crucify him!”
23 “Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”
24 When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar(B) was starting, he took water and washed his hands(C) in front of the crowd. “I am innocent of this man’s blood,”(D) he said. “It is your responsibility!”(E)
