40 (A)and saying, “You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself, if you are the Son of God, [and] come down from the cross!” 41 Likewise the chief priests with the scribes and elders mocked him and said, 42 “He saved others; he cannot save himself. So he is the king of Israel![a] Let him come down from the cross now, and we will believe in him.

40 and saying, “You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days,(A) save yourself!(B) Come down from the cross, if you are the Son of God!”(C) 41 In the same way the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders mocked him. 42 “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! He’s the king of Israel!(D) Let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe(E) in him.
