¹⁸ Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.^(A)

¹⁸ No one has ever seen God. The one and only^(A) Son, who is himself God and is at the Father’s^(B) side^[a]—he has revealed him.^(C)

²⁹ I know him because I am from him, and he sent me.”^(A)

¹⁹ Then they asked him, “Where is your Father?”

“You know neither me nor my Father,”^(A) Jesus answered. “If you knew me, you would also know my Father.”^(B)
