Matthew 5:15-17
Contemporary English Version
15 (A) and no one lights a lamp and puts it under a clay pot. Instead, it is placed on a lampstand, where it can give light to everyone in the house. 16 (B) Make your light shine, so others will see the good you do and will praise your Father in heaven.

17 Don't suppose I came to do away with the Law and the Prophets.[a] I did not come to do away with them, but to give them their full meaning.

15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.(A) 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others,(B) that they may see your good deeds(C) and glorify(D) your Father in heaven.

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.(E)
