⁶ and saying, “Lord, my servant^[a] is lying at home paralyzed, in terrible distress.”

¹⁶ That evening they brought to him many who were possessed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and cured all who were sick.

Jesus Heals Two Men

²⁸ When he came to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes,^[a] two men possessed by demons came out of the tombs and met him. They were so fierce that no one could pass that way.

³³ The swineherds ran off, and, going into the town, they told the whole story about what had happened to the men possessed by demons.

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

² And some people were carrying to him a paralyzed man lying on a stretcher. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Take heart, child; your sins are forgiven.”^(A)

⁶ But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Stand up, take your bed, and go to your home.”

¹⁵ and said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has epilepsy and suffers terribly; he often falls into the fire and often into the water.

³² That evening, at sunset, they brought to him all who were sick or possessed by demons.^(A)

³⁶ Those who had seen it told them how the one who had been possessed by demons had been healed.^(A)
